A bit of history...
Pelikan is a stationery company from Hanover, Germany. They started in 1838 and were originally known for inks, but in 1929 they made their first fountain pen which was famously one of the first piston-fill pens, and have since been developing their line to what it is today. Because of their deep history and impact in the German stationery industry, all of their fountain pens are pretty popular within the stationery community and appreciated for different reasons. Some of those include their extensive history with piston-fill pens–which they’ve been working on and upgrading for almost 100 years now.
The Pelikan M600 is from their premium Souverän line, which combines elegant design, high-quality materials, and expert craftsmanship to deliver a smooth and comfortable writing experience.
Nib Log
We did a nib log with the Pelikan M600 Souverän in nib sizes EF, F, M, and B, and they performed very well. The pen has a "medium" sized body and nib, as compared to the M200 and M400's "small", and the M800's "large". This medium size nib makes the writing experience soft with a bit of bounce, and the grind has a round stub-ness to it that allows you to do some line variation, especially if you utilize the softness of the nib when applying pressure.
The nib is slightly rounded at the top, with a bit of a flat finish that gives it the stub-like feel during writing.
